Dear EUSD Community,
We are aware of the impending lapse in funding for CalFresh/EBT (SNAP) benefits to families, which is scheduled to begin on November 1, 2025, due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. We understand that this interruption in benefits may cause significant challenges for many in our community, and we want to ensure that families have access to information and support during this time.
Please know that school meal programs will not be affected. EUSD will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at every school site.
We recognize that this gap in federal assistance may create hardships for some families. If your family is in need of assistance, please reach out to your school’s community liaison. Their contact information can be found on the Family Resources page on our district website.
Additionally, we have included a list of local food resources and programs available in Encinitas for families to utilize or support. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Vanessa Reed, parent and PTA member at Flora Vista, for sharing this list of resources.
